DS Automobiles is announcing its support to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Exhibition ‘Chihuly at Kew: Reflections on Nature’ (13 April – 27 October 2019), epitomising ’the spirit of avant-garde’.

Kew is a world famous centre for botanical and mycological knowledge where plants and fungi have been researched, cultured and conserved for over 250 years. Iconic artist Dale Chihuly is exhibiting his luminous, unique glass artworks across one of London’s most spectacular landscapes, in a perfect marriage of art, science, and nature. Famous worldwide for his dazzling glass sculptures, Chihuly’s work has been exhibited in more than 240 museums around the world, over his 50-year career. As well as glass, Chihuly uses paint, charcoal, graphite, neon, ice, and Polyvitro to explore possibilities and realise his vision, this being only his second visit to the UK.

There is an eco DS display planned for alongside the newly restored Temperate House, displaying the latest second-generation DS products with low emissions and electrified ‘E-TENSE’ versions. There will also be integrated promotional activities including a presence at Kew’s busiest entrance, Victoria Gate, with other initiatives in development too.

In 2019, DS Automobiles is launching its electrified product deployment - with BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles) and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid petrol-Electric Vehicles) becoming available on each of its new second-generation range. E-TENSE is DS Automobiles’ global vision for energy transition and this new avant-garde strategy for electrification has led to the brand offering all its new models in versions that are 100% electric or high-performance plug-in hybrid, combined with a suite of dedicated services.

“DS Automobiles is delighted to be supporting the exhibition ‘Chihuly at Kew: Reflections on Nature’.

We believe the association represents a stylish and timely platform with our quickly emerging, young premium brand. Our philosophy is a blend of savoir-faire coupled with advanced technology and the arrival of our elecrtification plans, and I can’t think of a location that compliments this better.”

Mark Blundell, UK Marketing Director, DS Automobiles

Director of Marketing and Commercial Enterprise at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Sandra Botterell, commented: “We have worked hard to select the best supporter for the exhibition ‘Chihuly at Kew: Reflections on Nature’, which we open in April. This exhibition represents the pinnacle of innovative, modern design so we needed a partner that could reflect that same spirit, and DS Automobiles is a perfect fit. We welcome having DS Automobiles’ support for this creative and spectacular exhibition, which we know our visitors will thoroughly enjoy.”

DS Automobiles strives to be among the global leaders in low-emission vehicles, as every one of its second-generation range will be lowest emissions and electrified – either as a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid petrol-Electric Vehicle) or BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), carrying the signature ‘E-TENSE’ branding for electrified powertrains with versions of DS 7 CROSSBACK and DS 3 CROSSBACK arriving in QTR4 2019. The DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE 4x4 offers a 300hp, low CO2 at 49g/km with four-wheel-drive and DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE is DS Automobiles’ first 100% electric vehicle with 136hp, a 200-mile range (WLTP drive cycle) and the ability to be 80% charged in 30 minutes.

Also, within the portfolio of services offered through ‘Only You, the DS experience’ includes DS Club Privilège members (individuals that have purchased a DS car) who will have the potential to access exclusive VIP tickets to the exhibition after hours, with VIP guided tours of the gardens and free family tickets to the Chihuly exhibition at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
