THE DS BRAND AT THE 16TH SHANGHAI MOTOR SHOW

The 2015 Shanghai Motor Show opens its doors to the general public on 21 April. The show is a key event for DS as China is a crucial component of the global strategy pursued by this new premium automotive brand, inspired by the best in French luxury. Three years after its launch in China, DS is actively pursuing its development in this marketplace. Building on the roll-out of three new vehicles  in 12 months and 82 dealerships in a dedicated network, it is launching the New DS 5 in China and Europe simultaneously. As further proof of its  ambitions, it will be unveiling a special edition of the New DS 5:  the DS 5 Golden Matt. The brand will be present in hall 7.1.



One month after its launch as a fully fledged brand at the Geneva Motor Show, it was only natural for DS Automobiles, the new premium brand of the PSA Group, to be present for the second major event of the year: the Shanghai Motor Show.

 

A GLOBAL BRAND

China continues to be a priority for the DS brand. This is demonstrated on its stand at the Shanghai Motor Show, where it is presenting its ‘DS Automobiles’ logo and the ‘Spirit of avant-garde’ signature in China for the first time, alongside its latest model: the New DS 5. New DS 5 is being launched simultaneously in China and Europe and, as the brand’s flagship model, it perfectly expresses the identity of DS.
“Launching the New DS 5 at the same time in Europe and China is a major step forwards in the deployment of our strategy of international expansion and product development. In the longer term, our aim is to have a range of six global vehicles.” said Yves Bonnefont, CEO of DS.

 

A PREMIUM BRAND

No fewer than ten DS models, including the New DS 5 will be on display on a 986 m2 stand in Premium hall 7.1. With a line-up extending from the DS 23, symbolising the brand’s heritage, to the DS 5 MoonDust showcar, DS 5 LS, DS 6 SUV, and New DS 5 Golden Matt, visitors will be immersed in a universe of refinement, attention to detail, design and technologies.

The DS brand

A French brand born in Paris, DS was officially founded on 1 June 2014. Its ambition is to achieve a real upmarket comeback for the French automotive industry. Drawing on the very best of French know-how, DS perpetuates the values of innovation and distinction inherited from the first DS, launched in 1955. Designed for customers looking for a means to express themselves as individuals, the DS range now comprises the models: DS 3, DS 3 CABRIO, DS 4, DS 5, DS 5LS* and DS6* (sold in China only).  The DS range makes bold statements in terms of style, pleasure and refinement. And it stands out thanks to avant-garde technology, in particular the Hybrid4 hybrid diesel drive train on the DS 5. Marketed in dedicated showroom areas, DS boasts its own network of sales outlets in China.
For customers, DS has come to represent a brand experience that goes beyond the product to include a range of exclusive premium services, in particular through the DS Privilege Club. DS confirmed its worldwide success in 2013 with sales of 120,000 units, bringing the total number of cars sold since launch to more than 500,000.
